You don’t need anything fancy to start telling your story. All you need is a pen, pencil, and one piece of paper.
About this event
In this art workshop, we'll be using zines as a way for us to explore comics and visual storytelling.
Drawing experience is not necessary--meaningful stories can be told with expressive stick figures and lettering!
Recommended for adults and young adults/teens.
Zines are a great way to get started creating stories and experimenting with comics. They allow us to use budget limitations to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
In this workshop, we’ll dig into the basic format of a zine, what a zine is, and use a writing prompt to help us plan a short story.
We will work with a period of writing, folding our own zines, sketching out, then drawing, and finally solidifying our story in 6 panels.
This workshop will be recorded for anyone that cannot attend the designated time. A link to the recording will be sent out via email following the workshop. It will remain active up to a week following the workshop.
Live Closed Captioning will be available.
