By Bea Byrne Creates

Overview

In this class, local maker Bea Byrne will guide you through the basics of UV resin casting to create unique pieces. Holiday Special!

Come join me at my Studio on E 23rd Street in Oakland, for an exciting event featuring UV Resin!

In this class, local maker and textile artist Bea Byrne will guide you through the basics of UV resin casting to create a beautiful and unique selection of resin jewelry (think earrings, pendant necklaces, and charms), keychains, coasters, and more! Casting with UV resin is a safe, minimal odor process which cures in minutes for fast and rewarding results. Bea will begin by showing you the basics of using UV resin with various resin molds, as well as demonstrating how to create fun color effects and add layers to each object. She’ll share helpful techniques for adding glitter, beads, dried flowers or leaves, and other tiny bits of decorative flare! And after curing for a few short minutes under a UV lamp, your resin masterpiece will be finished and ready to use! For jewelry items, Bea will show you how to attach any of the necessary hardware such as clasps, hoops, or posts. Each student will leave class with at least 3-4 individual objects, as well as the know-how to do more resin casting at home!

Ages: 10-15 year old need to be accompanied by an adult. 16+ are welcome to attend solo.

Supplies Needed: All tools and supplies for this class are included. Resin will stain clothes if spilt so you may want to bring an apron, but it is usually not needed.

Parking: Street parking available.
