Event description

Description

I've taught photography for over nine years and feel quite priveledged to teach the Intro to Studio Strobe Lighting workshop for the last four. Out of the many photographic subjects I've taught throughout my career, this class is my favorite. The studio is where my photography has "lived" for the last 28 years and, no doubt, my favorite place to be.

Your Takeaways:

Mastering the tools of lighting is the key to mastering studio photography. In this one-day, experiential workshop, students will gain a foundation of studio lighting and practical knowledge of light. Working hands-on with the equipment, participants will learn how to select the proper source for their live subjects.

The tried and true curriculum will start out with basic lighting setups and move into more detail with studio strobe, reflectors, fill flash, soft boxes, umbrellas, scrims, grids, flags/gobos, and light meters. Students will learn about light quality, color and contrast of light to enhance their subject and create dimension and depth. Each student will experience working hands on with the equipment, directing their own lighting scheme, as well as their subject, and work together with fellow classmates to shoot their own creations.

Free refreshments will be available and a prtinted transcript will be given to all attendees.
