Join Galvanize for a seminar on the basics of Python before joining our FREE basic prep program!

About this Event

Event Description:

This is part two of an event series for beginners who want to start learning the basics of programming with Python.

We will recap concepts covered in Part 1, then jump into coding and cover the Python syntax and programming concepts for:

- Functions

- Scopes

- Working with libraries

We'll put together what we learned making useful code we can re-use on different datasets.

In Part 1 we covered:

Getting started with programming

Overview of careers using python

Part 1 covered getting started with:

- Variables

- Strings

- Numbers

- Lists

- Dictionaries

- Conditionals

- Loops

How to Prepare:

- Install Google Chrome (any modern browser should work):

- Sign up for a Google account if you don't already have one (We will be using an online code editor by Google)

- Have the Zoom Client for Video Meetings installed well before the webinar begins:

- 2 Hours – 5:30pm - 7:30pm PST

Andrew Means

I'm passionate about solving problems. I've leveraged this passion to explore innovative solutions to uncover new areas of opportunity that were previously unknown.

My background in software development, data engineering, and data science lets me solve these problems creatively and from different angles. From recognizing pain points and collecting data about the issue to creating a developer tool that when integrated would save thousands of engineering hours on manual processes.

I am on a mission to create beautiful experiences using a synthesis of data science, creative feature engineering, and scalable design.
