Join master artist Lory Kitamura during this 2.5-hour class that is designed for a range of students from artists who consider themselves beginners in pet portraiture, to those familiar with chalk pastels, to advanced artists looking for feedback on composition and technique.
Lory will spend the first half hour teaching how to begin a pet portrait. The remaining time will focus on individualized feedback.
Please bring your own photo(s) of your pet to work from. Good lighting in the photo is key!

Classes will take place in Art Bias' Studio 114.

About the Instructor:
After retiring, Lory Kitamura embraced a new creative path into the art world. Starting with charcoal and pencil, then exploring colored pencils, markers, and eventually pastels. Lory furthered her studies at the Pacific Arts League, the Palo Alto Art Center, and the Bay Area Classical Artists Atelier. Portraiture is Lory's main focus. Materials to bring:
Students are responsible for bringing one (1) of the pastels that are recommended (images below) by the instructor. Brands below consist of those such as Rembrandt, Unison, Carbothello, or Prismacolor. Also, students must bring their own paper and kneadable erasers as shown below. California Art Supply is the recommended local store to call and order from.
