Join WNIT's Brenda Bowyer, as she teaches you how to unlock the incredible camera you already own! In this beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop, we'll demystify your phone's camera and teach you how to move from taking snapshots to creating intentional, beautiful photos. You'll start using fundamental skills like finding great light, using simple composition tricks and making quick edits. Leave with new confidence and the tools to start capturing stunning images right away. This beginner level course is suitable for iPhone and Android users.

What to Bring: Fully charged smartphone with a camera, a cleaning cloth and an optional mobile editing app (Snapseed, Lightroom Mobile, or your phone's built-in editor).

About the instructor:

With nearly three decades of experience as a producer and director at WNIT Public Television, Brenda Bowyer is a visual artist whose work is a creative response to the world around her. A graduate of Goddard College (M.F.A.) and Manchester University (B.A.), she wields photography, videography and sound to bring stories to life. Bowyer’s process is an act of listening, using her camera to give voice to the quiet details of the world. Her work also extends to education, where she has taught studio and field production to students and interns, sharing her passion for the craft through digital media and photography.
