What’s the only thing better than a beautiful hardwood frame around your artwork? A beautiful hardwood frame that YOU made! This summer, learn to make frames from scratch at Washington Printmakers Gallery. Students will gain a basic understanding of woodworking with hand tools and learn all the tips and tricks to make beautiful frames with ease.
Note: Please email the instructor William Demaria before the start of the class so that enough frame stock will be prepared for you to work with throughout the class.

Class price includes $50 in frame stock. Frames over 30 x 40” or frames made with expensive wood frequently go over the framing budget. Market prices fluctuate and students will be consulted before any purchases are made for them. About William Demarie
My name is William Demaria. I currently live in Baltimore Maryland and sustain myself off of selling my artwork in New York City. I do not have a woodshop with expensive power tools, and I make frames in my 2 bedroom apartment. Last year I made roughly 60 frames from scratch and saved roughly $12,000. While originally, I started to save money, I have found I can get a significantly higher quality frame than I received from a professional framer and the handmade frames I make allow me to present my artwork in high end art shows.
