Bringing Value Back to Agile: Cross-functional product design and development
Hands-on Workshop

Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to participate in this single-day intensive workshop from designer and author Josh Seiden and hosted by Not On the High Street at their offices in Richmond.

In 2011 Josh published his first book, Lean UX: Applying lean principles to improve user experience which you can find here.

Josh is based in New York but has given speeches and realized workshops in many different countries. Now you have the chance to meet and learn from Josh right here in London.

Time and Place: Nov 24th, 2015, from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

NOTHS House, 63 Kew Road, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 2NQ

Price: £495 for normal tickets. Early Birds: Sign up before Nov 1 for £425 price! Group pricing available.

About the workshop:

Software product development has changed. New project approaches like Agile and DevOps given us the ability to deliver software faster than ever before. This new reality fundamentally changes the way we create new products and services. The old waterfall ways of software development are dead. The new way is a collaborative, continuous cycle of concepting, delivering, learning and iterating.

But product teams often struggle to take advantage of these new opportunities. Designers have to find a way to work in agile rhythms. Product managers need to move from feature-thinking to a learning-orientation, and developers have to struggle with the fuzzy borders between prototyping, hacking, and engineering.

Josh has been helping teams solve these problems for years now, and is an expert in teaching you the collaborative, cross-functional methods of Lean UX and Lean Startup that will allow you to thrive in this new world.

“A huge thanks to Josh.  I thoroughly enjoyed his openness and natural excitement sharing with us his experiences.  I took many positives from yesterday and I have already started to ‘test’ with my team back work.” – A recent workshop attendee.

Who should attend:

This workshop is designed for Product Managers, Designers, and Front-End Developers who work on collaborative, agile, product teams. Individual contributors and team leaders will get the most from this fun, hands-on workshop. Come as an individual to learn new methods, or bring your team and increase the productivity of your whole group!

What you will learn:

In this fun, high-energy and hands-on workshop, Josh will teach you and your teams:

  • How adopting lean principles increases the amount your team learns
  • Why focusing on achieving outcomes is far more successful than focusing on features
  • How to base your product plans on assumption-testing, rather than requirements
  • How to write hypotheses to test assumptions
  • How to design and execute experiments to test your hypotheses
  • How to work cross-functionally to bring engineering, design and product management together in an agile way
  • How to incorporate this culture of learning in your organization – enterprise, mid-size or startup

Who is teaching this workshop:

Josh Seiden is a principal in Neo’s NYC office. He is a designer and author who has been creating great technology products for more than 20 years—working in hardware and software, on consumer- and enterprise-based products, and in mobile, web, and desktop systems. At Neo, he co-leads the user-experience design practice, and specialises in working with clients in complex domains, especially financial services.

Prior to joining Neo, he co-founded Proof, the influential Lean UX consulting firm that Neo acquired in 2012. Earlier, he was head of product design at Wall Street innovator Liquidnet, and lead pioneering interaction design teams at Cooper. He is a founder and past President of the Interaction Design Association. He is the co-author (with Jeff Gothelf) of “Lean UX: Applying Lean Principles to Improve User Experience.”
