Where can I park?

There is street parking in front of the Makerspace, and along streets to the left and right. There are also 2 spots immediately behind the Makerspace (Tandem).

Can I bring food or drinks?

You can bring what you want, but no food/drinks are allowed nearby the laser cutter. The first half of the class is the teaching section, where eating and drinking are fully allowed. This is to avoid accidental spills/messes on our machinery.

Question 3

Do I need to bring my own materials or crafting idea?

Not at all. Materials will be provided by the space, and sample files are available for take home projects. People are allowed to bring in their own ideas or designs, but are requested to be mindful of other attendees and should ideally have the project as a vector file already.

What software is used?

I will be using Inkscape for my intro, but Corel Draw is also available for use. I can import most vector formats, such as .ai, .svg, .cdr, .eps, etc. into Inkscape to print, but sometimes files can improperly transfer.

Question 5

How many projects will we make?

Accepted Answer

I aim to have have at least project per person, with requests for additional projects being dependent on remaining class time and complexity. Asking for duplicates of a design can be considered depending on the same factors.

Question 6

Do I need to bring my own computer?

Accepted Answer

You may if you want, but we have a computer directly connected to the laser that we know works, so that will be the input source to the laser.
