🌿 What to Expect

Get ready for a hands-on, creative experience where you’ll explore the beauty of natural textures in clay!

  • 🖌️ Step-by-step guidance from a talented local instructor
  • 😄 A judgment-free zone — no worries if your mug turns into a bowl (we love happy accidents!)
  • 💫 Good vibes, messy hands, and proud “look what I made!” moments

🏺 About the Workshop

Learn to shape ceramics with a texture-focused approach using the Kurinuki technique — a traditional Japanese method of carving from a solid block of clay to create organic, freeform pieces.

You’ll be guided through each step to bring your unique ideas to life, experimenting with texture, movement, and form.

Included Materials

  • ½ lb of clay per participant
  • Use of basic ceramic tools (metal rib, loop tools, wire, wood, and blending tools)
  • Access to heat guns for drying stages
  • Water for sculpting and smoothing
  • All pieces will be bisque fired and glazed by Mei after class

🕰️ Please allow 3–4 weeks for your finished, glazed piece to be ready for pickup.

💡 Before You Go

  • 👕 Wear comfortable, casual clothing — things might get a little messy!
  • ⏰ Arrive 10 minutes early to check in and get settled.
  • 🎟️ Upon arrival, let the host or staff know you’re there for the ceramics workshop.

🪶 Come play with clay!

Whether you’re here to unwind, get creative, or simply try something new — this workshop promises laughter, learning, and a one-of-a-kind creation to take home.
