Get ready for a treat when you take your first improv class!

Looking to laugh?

Maybe you want to get better at speaking off the cuff or improve your auditioning skills? Maybe you've seen an improv show and wondered how something so funny can be made up without any preparation? Or maybe you want to get back in touch with a state of play, that was so easy when you were a child and so foreign for most adults?

Or maybe you just want to meet some new people who will get all of your Battlestar Galactica references?

Whatever the case is for you, you won't regret trying improv with our affordable, two hour dip into the infectiously fun games that form the foundation of improv comedy!

TERRY WITHERS, INSTRUCTOR BIO

Terry is a longtime improv comedian and instructor who got his start at the famed UCB Theatre in NYC in 2007. Besides serving as a long time teacher, house performer and senior staff member at UCB, Terry has taught improv at regional improv theaters across the US including Sea Tea Improv in Hartford, HIT in Harrisburg, Dad's Garage in Atlanta, BIG in Baltimore, GIG in Gainesville, Mettlesome in Raleigh Durham, Kickstand in Portland and many more. He has also taught improv students extensively at major universities including Penn State, the University of Florida, Graceland University, Western Connecticut State University, Western Washington University and many more.

Terry is a proud member of the improv internet sensation, Fuck That Shit, the namesake of The Terry Withers Mysteries, creator of Paranormal Comedy and co-creator (with Hunter Nelson) of David Mamet's "The New David Mamet Play" (both of which he tours to colleges nationally) and founder of The Radical Agreement Project (and also E-MPROV, which saw thousands of improvisers performing online years before it became trendy).

Terry was lucky to study with many of UCBNY's best when he was starting out, including Zach Woods, Joe Wengert, Charlie Todd, Will Hines, Michael Delaney, Armando Diaz, Kevin Hines, Chris Gethard & Neil Casey.

Along the way he himself has taught or performed with many comedians who have gone on to recognizable success onscreen. That success is of course not because of him, but no one ever stood up and yelled "Fraud!" If you take this class there is at least a coin flip's chance that you also will not yell "Fraud!" at him.
