CLOWN MAKEUP
The Clown's makeup is an integral part of their character. Whether it's a full coverage of white or color and grotesque style emphasis on detail, or the most minute of emphasis, or even simply a costume piece, the look of a clown is their calling card.
In this 75-minute workshop, the instructor will discuss:
- The difference between a Whiteface clown, an Auguste/red clown, and a Character clown
- Different kinds of noses and their application
- Various ways to emphasize details in the face, and how different kinds of makeup tell a different kind of story
- Other elements outside of makeup that can solidify your clown design
Everyone will receive a piece of paper and colors to design their own makeup. When everyone has designed their makeup, they will have an opportunity to use makeup and try it on! Photo Ops can occur afterwards.
While the clowns are trying their makeup, the leader will discuss different clowns and their style and how they contributed to modern clown makeup.
The fee for this workshop includes supplies, and everyone will go home with their own basic makeup kit and example papers.
