Intro to Bonsai

Curious about the art of bonsai but not sure where to start? Join us for an inspiring introduction to this centuries-old practice of shaping miniature trees. In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of bonsai design, styling, pruning, wiring, and proper care—so your tree can thrive for years to come.

Our instructor, David Kuntz, will walk you through techniques step by step, answer your questions, and share tips for keeping bonsai beautiful in Colorado’s unique climate. Attendees will observe David’s approach and assimilate those techniques to their own bonsai. Attendees can choose between a 5-8 year old Tiger Bark Ficus or a Vietnamese Bluebell, both easy to maintain indoors!

No experience needed—just bring your curiosity and love of plants!

This class is a part of the Pikes Peak Bonsai Show, being held at Phelan Gardens October 11th and 12th!
