3-Hour Workshop
Blacksmithing: Leaf Hooks with Bug Beevil
Date: Thursday, November 20th
Time: 6pm-9pm
Description: Students will learn to make bends, twists, use punches and drill press, in addition to the forge and other workshop tools. We will discuss the basics of manipulating steel and will finish our hooks in a variety of styles. Students will leave with as meany hooks as they can create! This workshop is great for beginners or anyone wishing to hone their craft.
Tuition: $80 + $15 materials fee
Materials: All materials will be provided.
This workshop is in an open air studio, we recommend bringing a coat to keep warm before the forges get fired up! Students should wear natural fibers such as cotton and denim. Uncuffed pants and closed-toe shoes are required (no shorts or sandals permitted). Long hair should be restrained. Safety glasses and hearing protection are provided; however participants may bring their own if preferred. We recommend bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated.
Note: We really want you to join us in the studio! Full and partial tuition scholarships are available to offset some of the financial burden of attending a class.

Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded through Eventbrite, or you may leave your workshop fee in your Contemporary Craft account for future workshops.
Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. We are unable to refund materials cost for this workshop. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks.
About the Artist
Bug makes DIY art spaces and is passionate about the intersection of community space and art workshop. They stole institutional knowledge by working in factories, architectural fabrication shops, and a historical restoration teaching foundry. They are a multi media artist who has been manipulating metal for over 10 years. They believe everyone is an artist and desperately, more than anything want to bring art making as a practice into everyone's life.
