So many requests for an art journaling class! It's one of my favorite classes to teach, and so many people love it, I decided to offer a section this summer.
I've been teaching (actually, leading) art journaling classes since COVID, when I couldn't meet my art students for class face to face, so we used Zoom (remember that?), and everyone worked on their own projects based on a monthly prompt.
What is art journaling? It means something different to each of us. Some use it like a written journal, documenting their life experiences (good and bad) through artistic expression. Others use it to explore ideas and try new art techniques. Yet others use it like a scrapbook.
However you decide to use it, we need to get started somewhere. And that's what this class is all about.
Our first art journaling class prompt will be, Who I Am.
Bring photos, letters, snippets of quotes... whatever speaks to you, and we will add it to your art journal. I will bring images, poems, books you can cut up (destined for the landfill!), glue, and your first art journal book to work in.
If you already belong to our regular art journaling group, you can bring your journal and work along with us. We'd love to have you!
I'm putting plenty of photos in the comments section so you can see what other people have created in their journals. Cool stuff!
