Intro to AI Workshop: Practical Tools + Ethical Best Practices
Overview
You keep hearing about AI everywhere, but what is it really? And how do you actually use it in real life, beyond hype and headlines?
This beginner-friendly workshop breaks down AI in simple terms while showing you practical tools for work, business, school, creativity, and everyday life. If you’ve wanted to experiment with AI but weren’t sure where to start—or you’ve tried tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Copilot and felt overwhelmed—this class is for you.
We’ll also explore the ethical side of AI: why people fear or oppose it, how to use these tools responsibly, and how to avoid the common pitfalls that lead to misinformation, bias, or job displacement concerns. Our goal isn’t to replace human work—it’s to enhance it thoughtfully and with care.
This is a hands-on session with live demos. If you bring a laptop, you’ll be able to practice real workflows; if you don’t, you can still follow along and learn from the screen. Everyone will receive resource guides to take home.
Please arrive on time—you must be let into the building
