THIS EVENT IS VALUABLE FOR ANYONE WORKING WITH YOUNG CHILDREN: Early Childhood Educators (ECE's), Counselors, related service professionals, administrators, behavioral health providers, support staff, and parents. It is especially valuable for those working with very young children.
Specifically related to children born during the pandemic, the heightened levels of fear, anxiety, and stress experienced by expectant mothers had profound implications for both their own well-being and that of their developing fetus and younger offspring. Understanding these effects enables all educators, but specifically ECE's, to identify and address developmental delays or challenges that may have emerged during this period. By you recognizing the signs of pandemic-related stress or learning gaps, one can tailor their approaches to meet the unique needs of each child.
The format for these courses will be short-format lecture with open discussion, polls, "workgroup activities", a case study, and ongoing question and answer sessions throughout.
This course will cover: neurodevelopment, implications when neurodevelopment is interrupted (0-3 years), implications on behavior, insights for teaching and parenting, and additional resources.
All materials are provided for this course including PPT handouts, activity sheets and resources. All materials are provided for this course including PPT handouts, activity sheets and resources.
