About this event

Have you ever watched “Whose Line is It Anyway” and wanted to know how the performers can expertly improvise songs in so many specific genres? Here’s your chance to find out!

In this three-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to approach musical genres and styles in improvised songs from the legend behind the Whose Line keys. Rick and Laura Hall will teach you how to use vocal stylization in a range of genres and how to use movement to enhance those styles. This workshop will look at some genre-based Whose Line classics, such as Irish Drinking Song and Hoe Down, before delving into full songs in a variety of genres and styles.

This is an ideal workshop for any musical improviser looking to expand their repertoire of genres and to understand more deeply the specific vocal and movement choices that underpin those genres.

Who Is Eligible: This workshop is for intermediate or advanced musical improvisers–those who have taken a musical improv class and/or have had experience performing musical improv.

Maximum Capacity: In order to ensure the best possible experience for those taking part, we are capping this workshop at a maximum of 15 total students.

Location: This workshop will be held at the Endgames Improv training center at 2989 Mission St, San Francisco.

Date & Time: This workshop will take place on Friday, July 11 from 7:00 - 10:00PM.
