Event description
On Thursday evenings in November, BAX is offering intergenerational workshops exploring identity using playful performing arts activities.

About this Event

Bois (Boys) Movement Workshop: Representations of Masculinity and Consent

Facilitated by Ben Weber and Kelindah Schuster

Part of our ARTISTS ACTIVATED series of workshops and events.

In this workshop, adults, children (ages 6+), and caregivers alike will explore different expressions of masculinity through dramatic play. Participants will share understandings of masculinity and using humor and creativity unpack toxic masculinity while visioning a greater spectrum for masculinity expression, including especially expressions of male love, care-taking, and joy. Participants will also unpack and embody the meaning of consent and scaffold different ways consent is expressed. This workshop is open to folks of all genders.

All tickets are pay-what-you-can general admission.

Please select the amount that sincerely works best for your family, keeping in mind that these funds go directly to facilitator fees and support BAX’s ongoing investment in such community resources.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Children under 8 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
  • Unaccompanied children (over 8) must be picked up promptly at 7:00 pm.
