#CNBR_Open Seminar. Interfacing with the brain via a spinal electrical neural link
About this event
While brain-machine interfaces and assistive rehabilitation technologies help to restore motor function, lack of sensation is a major barrier to effective recovery.
In this talk of the CNBR_Open Project, Dr. Yadav will present research showing how spinal cord stimulation (SCS) can be used to create an artificial sensory neural link with the brain.
He will share results demonstrating the ability of SCS to generate robust sensory percepts in rodents and primates and showcase how the novel sensory link can be utilized to treat motor symptoms in animal models of Parkinson's disease.
Dr. Yadav will then briefly discuss his future research and his vision of using spinal interfaces for the rehabilitation of patients with sensory and motor deficits.
