Integrative Play Therapy with Adults Suffering from Complex Trauma in Forgotten Places

The training will explain how Integrative Play Therapy can be applied to adults with complex trauma. Techniques and strategies, theory, and application will be combined to provide the attendee with an immersive experience design to enhance their play therapy expertise. A case example of using Integrative Play Therapy in a prison with adults will demonstrate these tools and ideas for community application will be explored.

Participants will be able to:

  1. describe how Integrative Play Therapy is useful when working with adults suffering from complex trauma. 
  2. identify play therapy techniques specifically used for adults suffering from complex trauma. 
  3. apply Integrative Play Therapy techniques specifically for emotional regulation, self acceptance, and self-repair.

VIRTUAL: This will be a virtual presentation. Participants are asked to be visible (video on) throughout the presentation to facilitate engagement and will be awarded 3 APT non-contact CE upon successful completion of a post test.

FAPT is approved by the Association for Play Therapy to offer continuing education specific to Play Therapy. APT Approved Provider 02-115. FAPT maintains responsibility for the program. Registrants understand and agree that any photograph (screenshot), video or audio recording of themselves may be used to further promote FAPT.

FAPT is approved by the Florida Department of Health under FL Statute 491 to offer continuing education for Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Mental Health Counselors. Provider Number BAP-50-10520 expires 03/31/2027. FAPT is approved by the Florida Department of Health under FL Statute 490 to offer continuing education for Psychologists. Provider Number BAP-50-10520 expires 05/31/2026.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be requested in writing and received no later than January 1, 2026. Cancellations are subject to a $20 processing fee. Substitutions (someone else attending) or transfer of registration to another training date may be requested.

About our presenter: Kevin B. Hull, PhD, LMHC, RPT owns and operates Hull and Associates, P.A. a private practice in Lakeland, Florida. Kevin is a Registered Play Therapist and professor, and has written extensively about the use of play in clinical practice. Kevin is a husband and father of four, and loves to play in the Gulf of Mexico as an open water swimmer.
