Innovation through Visualisation
In partnership with Afterburner, Radtac brings you a truly creative and interactive workshop (taking place in Atlanta 1 day before Agile16). Our Innovation through Visualisation one-day workshop has been created to provide you with the winning formula needed to express your ideas visually.
From start to finish you will be guided through fun, bite-sized exercises that will collectively enable you to successfully captivate a group through pictures.
Whether you wish to enhance your facilitation skills, make collaborative design thinking a key enabler within your team, or simply gain the confidence you need to draw live in front of an audience, this workshop is for you.
The workshop will include the following building blocks to successful visualisation:
- Practising basic shapes before progressing to idea-focused drawings
- Getting to grips with drawing people, hands and faces
- Active listening exercises
- Collaborative design/ sketching
- Handwriting techniques
- Storyboarding
- Interactive design
- Layout, flow and structure patterns
- The use of Graphic templates
- Problems solving/ idea mapping tools and techniques

Organizer of Innovation Through Visualisation
Stuart Young is a professional live illustrator with extensive traditional/ Agile Project management experience and a deep-rooted appreciation for Agile Principles and Methodologies.
With international notoriety within the Agile Community, Stuart has supported various Scrum Alliance Global Gatherings/ Retreats. In addition he have illustrated at an endless list of popular Agile conferences such as the Agile Testing Days in Berlin, the Lean Agile Scotland Conference and the London Lean Kanban event.
Combining both creative and analytical skills Stuart contributes to team visioning/ planning workshops and retrospectives by offering captivating visuals that crystallise ideas and learning. Key insights can then be transformed into illustrated storyboards to clearly demonstrate a process, journey or vision. The artwork is then used by organisations to aid collaboration, stakeholder engagement and organisational alignment.
When not drawing, Stuart runs a number of artistry workshops to support individuals to gain the confidence to draw and collaborate effectively. The newly gained skills assist teams to solve problems and map ideas with the use of graphic metaphors and additional visualisation techniques.
Stuart joined Radtac in 2015 where I continue to assist individuals, teams and organisations with an array of visualisation services.

Tom Friend is an Executive Consultant with Afterburner Inc. Tom is a retired military combat veteran, airline transport pilot, small unit leader, and squadron commander. He is an accomplished Agile consultant, trainer, and coach with 23 years’ experience leading software development teams in various industries to include federal, banking, cable, telecommunications, and energy. He has 12 years hands on Agile / XP / Scrum software development experience. He is a distinguished graduate from Air War College and has a BS in Aeronautics.
