Event Information
About this event
In this session we will be joined by Zack Koppert from GitHub and some of the InnerSource Community, who will be sharing their experiences of how to implement InnerSource in government organizations.
After the talk we will be facilitating a discussion on the topic that will be held under the Chatham House Rule. Join us to discuss challenges and learn about best practices in this space.
AGENDA
Please note that doors will open 15 minutes before the session starts, and we encourage you to join for some virtual hallway chat.
- [05 mins] Welcome
- [25 mins] Zack Koppert (GitHub): Sharing and transparency can seem like the antithesis of established governments. From US federal agencies to state governments, Zack has seen both the potential and need for InnerSource as well as some of its biggest obstacles. In this talk he will be covering his experience with recognizing potential value and obstacles to InnerSource in government, as well as providing a framework for how to help bond the seemingly incompatible cultures.
- [25 mins] Community Discussion: This part of the community call will be held under the Chatham House Rule. Participants will be free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed. This part of the event will not be recorded.
- [5 mins] Wrap-up
We typically also leave some space after the formal end of the event for some more informal chat. Please feel free to join us.
SPEAKER BIO
Zack Koppert
GitHub
Zack has a passion for collaboration and an appetite for change. In previous roles he has led an innovation movement that got people to dedicate time to thinking outside the box, founded an Open Source office inside a 70 year old Tech company, and built software security training from the ground up. A force of inspiration, Zack is now in the middle of gardening an InnerSource movement inside US government.
