About this event
Immersive Art & Sound Installation with 3 one-hour shows each afternoon / evening!
Space is limited and registration is strongly encouraged.
The Experience
Enter an immersive installation where art and sound evoke the vastness of the universe. Set to a cosmic backdrop of large-scale oil paintings, experience the sounds of space through live gong and theremin performance. Reflect on your inner cosmos in this meditative journey through silence, vibration, and awe.
An intentionally contemplative event, Inner & Outer Space has been designed to limit distractions. Attendees must maintain total silence as they expand beyond the earthly experience into the universe itself.
Performance Times
Tuesday, Nov. 11: 5:30pm, 7:00pm, & 8:30pm
Wednesday, Nov. 12 — 3:30pm (daylight show), 6:30pm, & 8pm

Event Details
Inner & Outer Space is a timed 45-60 minute experience offered 3 times daily, with an early show on Wednesday for those who prefer not to drive in the dark. Walk-ins may be accommodated as space and timing allows. Advance registration is strongly encouraged to ensure the best possible experience, as space is limited.
Arrival Window: Please arrive no later than 10 minutes past your registered start time. Early arrivals may wait in an anteroom where they can interact with the artist or performers.
Silent Reflection: Upon entering the gallery/performance space, feel free to wander among the artwork or choose a seat to quietly reflect and take in the recorded cosmic soundscape. Chairs are provided. No yoga mats, please. Silence cell phones to preserve the contemplative atmosphere. See FAQ below regarding older children.
Live Performance: The gong and theremin experience begins promptly at 15 minutes past the hour. No late entry will be permitted once the performance begins.
Agenda
First 15 minutes: Arrive, interact with the artist, Esther Hale, in the anteroom. Docents will orient guests to the event room, and will lead them in prior to the performance. Prior to the performance you may walk around to view the giant paintings and total environment, while keeping to the dimly lit path on the floor. No one may enter the room after the performance begins.
Next ½ hour – Live Performance: Sit and listen to the performance, with large gongs, theremin (an instrument that is played without touching it) and other instruments create the sounds of space to accompany the cosmic environment. Diane Hancock and Randy Schwartz will create the sounds of space with the gongs, theremin and other instruments. Close your eyes to meditate, or watch as the sound artists create the sonic atmosphere against the backdrop of this created cosmos.
Last 10 minutes: Guests are free to depart, or to linger in the room a bit longer, viewing the cosmic artwork and starry environment as they hear recorded sounds of this created universe. Some of the sound/visual artist(s) will be in the anteroom for questions.
