The South Suburban Chicago (IL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, is excited to introduce The LEGO Academy (Links Eliminating Gaps through Opportunities)—a free, year-long, multigenerational community program designed for students in 6th grade and above, adults, and senior citizens in the South Suburban community.
What is The LEGO Academy?
It’s a community program that provides workshops, field trips, meals, and resources to help families strengthen education, careers, health, culture, civic life, and access to healthy food.
What’s included for FREE?
- 🎓 Education & Careers: Scholarships, community service hours, resume, cover letter & personal statement help, elevator pitch coaching, FREE professional headshots, mock interviews, digital skills, field trips, and laptops for select participants
- 🗳️ Civic Engagement: Deputy voter registrar training, FREE state IDs/Real IDs, FREE birth certificates, and FREE Ventra passes
- 🍎 Health & Wellness: FREE Screenings and workshops
- 🥗 Food Security: FREE hot meals at every session + FREE groceries to take home
