The Service Design Studio at the Mayor's Office for Economic Opportunity helps the City of New York to better meet the needs of its most vulnerable residents through service design methods – emphasizing a holistic approach, partnering the people who use services with the public servants and nonprofit providers who deliver them. <p><strong>In the virtual 60 minute information session via Zoom we’ll go over:</strong></p><ul><li>Who we are at the Service Design Studio </li><li>What is service design</li><li>About the Designed by Community Fellowship Program </li><li>Hear from former host organization and fellows about their experience with the Designed by Community Fellowship Program</li><li>How to apply to the RFP</li><li>Q&amp;A</li></ul><h2>About the Fellowship</h2><p>The <strong>Designed by Community Fellowship Program</strong> is created to be a paid fellowship and project funding opportunity to support community leaders associated with not-for-profit community based organizations in designing and developing hyper-localized solutions in their community using Service Design methodology. Service design is a discipline which develops solutions to complex problems that are rooted in insights about the lived experiences of those affected by public services. It considers people, processes, communications and technology as part of the solution. </p><p>To achieve this, the Fellowship partners with non-profit community based organizations to support the Designed by Community Fellowship Program’s initial planning, outreach, participant selection, program development and delivery, administering stipends and project funds, and supports the implementation of Designed by Community projects under the Fellowship. The partner supports this work while building up their internal capacity and skills to use service design as a way to build community led initiatives within their existing network of community leaders. </p><p>While partnering with the Service Design Studio the host organization can expect The Studio to:</p><ul><li>Co-design the program delivery mechanics with the host organization</li><li>Create and deliver Service Design curriculum</li><li>Provide 1-1 support for the Design Champ(s)*</li><li>Support the design and development of community design / co-design methods for prototyping</li><li>Support the design and development of project deliverables</li><li>Create communications and social media to lift up the program and partner organization</li></ul><h3><strong>Ready to apply?
