DETAILS ABOUT THE EVENT:

We are incredibly excited to announce that we will be hosting our third annual Pride celebration to continue to provide a space for LGBTQ+ and ally legal professionals and our community to enjoy LGBTQ+ culture and network. This year’s celebration will take place on June 26, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Millbrook Manor in Raleigh, North Carolina! The theme for this year will be Infinite Spectrum: Bold Legacies, Boundless Futures. Although this event is meant for individuals within the legal profession, everyone is welcomed to join us in celebration of Pride!

Your ticket includes, passed hors d'oeuvres, a taco station and an open bar from 6-8:30 p.m. Additionally, we'll have a DJ and drag performances to celebrate the culture of our community.

WHY WE DO THIS:

Our Pride celebration is a platform not only to celebrate the achievements of the LGBTQ+ community but also to foster connections among legal professionals, students, and allies. As we witness a critical moment where the rule of law and principals of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) are facing unprecedented challenges. Efforts to erode these foundational tenants threaten not only marginalized communities but also the integrity of our legal system. By standing together as sponsors and advocates, we can reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding the rights of all individuals and ensuring that inclusion and equity remain paramount in our society and that LGBTQ+ legal professional feel a sense of belonging within the legal profession. It is vital for organizations like ours and firms and companies like yours, to take an active role in promoting justice and resisting any setbacks to the bold legacies LGBTQ+ individuals have established and the boundless futures we can possibly have—it truly can be an infinite spectrum!

WHO WE ARE:

Established in April 2020, PMBA aims at promoting and stimulating the practice and professional expertise of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and sexual/gender diverse legal professionals and providing opportunities for legal professionals in our communities to meet and network. We have held CLE courses and networking events for our members and continue to grow in these times of adversity.

WHAT YOUR TICKET SUPPORTS:

Your support will help us cover essential event costs, ensuring a successful and inspiring gathering, as well as help us continue doing the work we do throughout the year and will help us ensure that our Lavender Law Scholarship remains healthy so we can continue sending law students attending a law school in North Carolina to the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association’s Conference and Career Fair (“Lavender Law”). To date we have been able to send 11 students, and this July we’ll be sending 5 additional students to New York!

HOW TO SPONSOR:

If you'd like to sponsor the event, please reach out to us at lgbtqbarnc@gmail.com. We look forward to celebrating Pride with you this year!
