About the Event

Across the world the demand for effective interventions for mental health problems in children and young people far exceeds supply. In this talk I will use the example of child anxiety problems to illustrate how we have made the most of parents and of digital approaches to increase access to effective psychological treatments, with a particular focus on how we can make effective treatments available to families when they first need them.

Learning Objectives

  • To recognize barriers to access to evidence-based interventions for common mental health problems in childhood
  • To describe recent approaches to increasing access to psychological therapies for child anxiety disorders
  • To propose mechanisms to continue to build access to effective treatments for common childhood mental health problems
