Incorporating AI into Writing Processes

In this Zoom workshop, English professor Jonathan Fitzgerald will discuss the benefits and limitations of using AI in the classroom. He will focus on the use of AI as a collaborator in the writing process and how it can support research-based writing, while also acknowledging where AI falls short. Prof. Fitzgerald will provide examples to illustrate how AI can function as a collaborator as well as the continuing need for human writing support. Faculty will leave the workshop with strategies for how to be intentional about the use or non-use of AI in the teaching of writing.
