The Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University is pleased to invite you to the inaugural event of the Michael V. Hayden Center for Intelligence, Policy, and International Security. Please join us at the National Press Club on Monday, October 30, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. for a discussion of Truth Tellers in the Bunker: Evidence-Based Institutions in a Post-Truth World.

The event will be hosted and moderated by General Michael V Hayden (ret.), a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Schar School and former director of both the CIA and the NSA. In addition, he was the country’s first principal deputy director of national intelligence and the highest-ranking military intelligence officer in the country. General Hayden has invited five well-known individuals for the discussion:

James Clapper is a retired lieutenant general in the US Air Force and the former director of national intelligence who often serves as a commentator on national new media;
Jack Goldsmith is a former Assistant Attorney General, Office of Legal Counsel and currently is a Harvard Law School professor who has written extensively in the field of international law, civil procedure, cyber law, and national security law;
Katty Kay is an English journalist who presents BBC World News America on BBC World News;
Mark J. Rozell is the dean of the Schar School and frequently writes and comments on elections, federalism/state and local government, public law, and US politics and institutions; and
Nicolle Wallace is a former communications director for the White House who now serves as anchor of Deadline: White House and is chief political analyst for MSNBC and NBC News.

A reception will follow the discussion. There is no charge for attending this event, but you must register to be on the guest list.
