In Person: Holiday Acts of Kindness @ 2pm
Overview
Who this In Person Event is for:
Ages 2 -12. Adult caregivers are required to accompany child participants. Siblings of participants outside this age range are welcome, but may find the event to be less meaningful and fulfilling.
What you’ll be doing:
Join us as we lend a helping holiday hand to ensure everyone feels appreciated with gifts given from the heart this holiday season. Families will learn about community challenges, express gratitude to garbage collectors, spread holiday cheer through handmade cards for Lifecare Alliance, encourage baking and memory making for guests of the Worthington Resource Pantry, bust up boredom with activity kits distributed by Columbus Recreation and Parks, and create winter bookmarks for library patrons at the Columbus Metropolitan Main Library.
Families are encouraged to bring travel-sized winter care items (like chapstick, lotion, and tissues) to donate to The Open Shelter. Smaller items are easier for neighbors experiencing homelessness to carry with them and help meet immediate needs while on the go. Consider involving your child(ren) in the selection with a discussion of generosity and gratitude.
Specific Instructions:
All supplies will be provided. Please bring your travel-sized winter care items with you to the event.
This service opportunity is made possible through the generous support of Amazon.
