Jyorei was developed by Mokichi Okada (otherwise known as Meishusama) in Japan in the early part of the 20th century. The word "Jyorei" means purification of the spirit. Meishusama taught that "spiritual clouds" are the cause of sickness and unhappiness. Jyorei removes these spiritual clouds.

Jyorei practitioners view "spiritual clouds" as the cause of sickness and unhappiness. These clouds are subtle impurities within our spiritual body that dull our awareness and damage our health. Jyorei removes spiritual clouds in much the same way that light dispels darkness.

Jyorei is transmitted first to the forehead, which promotes spiritual purification. It is then transmitted to the top of the head, which induces physical purification. There is no need to share any personal diagnosis because the healing Light goes straight to the source of the problem.

I prefer not to be touched. Can I still receive Jyorei?

Accepted Answer

No physical contact occurs during Jyorei. The receiver sits upright, in a comfortable position, with eyes closed. The Jyorei practitioner transmits the healing Light from the divine, through their body, out of their hand, and onto the person receiving it.
