Welcome to In Our Bodies Women's Body Image Empowerment Group and Book Club! Join us at GHP Studio on Sunday, June 29th from 3:30 to 5pm for an empowering and uplifting experience. This in-person event is a safe space for women to come together, share their stories, and support each other on our journey to self-acceptance.
At this workshop, we will explore the practice of being present with what is. The session will be led by group founder Annie Kubena.
This topic is deeply meaningful to her, as she found peace, healing, and nervous system regulation through practicing acceptance without judgment. Having coped with chronic pain and multiple chronic illness diagnoses for over two decades, as well as navigating a chaotic world as a neurodivergent and highly sensitive person, Annie has explored and mastered various mindfulness techniques.
Her mission now is to share her insights and these tools with others who are managing anxiety, grief, chronic illness, and pain so that they may too find peace and freedom.
We will explore what chronic dysregulation looks like, along with concepts such as Radical Acceptance and Compassion (as taught by Tara Brach), The Work of Byron Katie, somatic tracking, and more.
The session will include time for practicing curiosity and openness in being with what is, noticing how it feels to allow all emotions, sensations, and thoughts—compared to gripping, pushing away, or attempting to control them.
Snacks and beverages will be provided. Bring a notebook and pen or pencil.
