Speaker's Bio:
Ngô Bảo Châu is a Vietnamese-French mathematician renowned for his groundbreaking contributions to number theory and representation theory. He is best known for proving the Fundamental Lemma, a central component of the Langlands Program that connects number theory and geometry. For this achievement, Ngô was awarded the Fields Medal in 2010, becoming the first Vietnamese mathematician to receive the honor.

Born in Hanoi in 1972, Ngô completed his undergraduate studies at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Paris-Sud under Gérard Laumon. He has held professorships at the Université Paris-Sud and the University of Chicago, where he continues his research in automorphic forms, trace formulas, and arithmetic geometry.
