About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Moderated by Bakehouse Curatorial + Public Programs Manager, Krys Ortega, the program features the artists Christine Cortes, Lee Pivnik, and Zoe Schweiger whose work is featured in the exhibition Strange Natures, currently on-view in the Swenson Gallery.

This conversation centers on the intersections of care, resilience, and speculative world-building through the lens of South Florida’s ecology and, more broadly, within the artists’ practices. In doing so, the conversation will explores how each artwork reflects the tension between the familiar and the strange, the present and the possible.

Guests are welcome to visit the artists’ studios after the program. Refreshments will be served.
