Improving NHS Mental Health Services For Men
Overview
Access to mental health support for men can often be a challenge, with barriers existing on both sides. This event is about addressing these issues and working together to create meaningful change.
At NHS Talking Therapies we see more women accessing our support than men. We want this to change as we know there are high support needs for men across Bristol North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. Can you help us to improve our service offer?
We are inviting men who want to make a difference for themselves and others to join us for an open discussion on how services, education around mental health, and the process of therapy could be improved. We want to learn from people with lived experience as well as organisations (many of which do incredible work with men). This is a chance to share experiences, ideas, and solutions in a supportive environment where every voice matters.
What to expect:
- A safe and welcoming space for honest conversation
- Group discussions on breaking down stigma and barriers
- Opportunities to influence how NHS support for men is shaped in the future
We will provide lunch and refreshments to say thank you for your time.
This event will be hosted at Ebenezer Church in Horfield, from 10:00 – 13:00.
There is no onsite parking but there is plenty of parking on residential streets surrounding the venue. The building is fully accessible.
