Try improv comedy out or take what you’ve learned from your past improv theater* experiences and continue to flex those creative muscles! Tap into your unique strengths to support yourself and others on stage. Improv is also great for public speaking, getting out of your comfort zone, and doing something social and fun!
In this small workshop you will:
- Try or focus on scene work
- Explore relationships and characters
- Recognize your default habits and try new approaches
- Get notes from a seasoned improv coach
- Create exciting dynamic stage pictures

What to Expect:
You’ll engage in whole group activities, pair work, and will take turns being player and audience member. Much of this workshop is standing with physical movement. If you have any limitations please let us know.

Who is this for? Adults who want to try an improv workshop or have done improv and want to get some reps in.
Who is teaching?
TJ Del Reno is a NYC raised improviser, voice-over actor, and stand-up comedian since 2004. He has trained under Bobby Moynihan, Zach Woods, Anthony Atamanuik, and other great teachers as well at teaching and training in Europe himself. He played on house teams at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, Reckless Theatre, Annoyance Brooklyn and The P.I.T. He has performed alongside Mick Napier, Jodi Lennon, and other improv veterans weekends at The P.I.T. on Chica-Go!-Go! TJ was a part of the Reckless Theatre weekend house team Too Big of a Dog!

You are welcome to join! It helps if you have taken some kind of acting, improv, public speaking class, but how this workshop is run you will have a great time with no previous experience.
You can use this to get more scene work and improv reps! Also meet other improvisers in the area. The more you do the workshop the better you will be as a performer.
We highly recommend to pre-register to make sure you have a spot.
No, we are a new independent comedy theatre called The Duke Comedy Theatre out of Beacon, NY. We are seasoned improv teachers, performers, and coaches . But please go check out Rhino Comedy, Blind Tiger, The Core, Happenstancery Improv! They are friends or ours!
That's cool! If you feel ready to focus on two-person scenes then join us. If you're not sure come anyway and try it out. It is a safe, fun, judgement free, silly environment to be in.
Yes we will have more workshops focused on scene work, forms, group play, matching, and more in the near future.
Try to show up 5-10 minutes before to get situated, meet the other performers, and so we can start on time.
