Frequently asked questions

Where is class located?

Because we are a working comedy theater with shows every night, most of our classes are not held on our stage. Our classes are located at our Creative Studios at Central Tower, just a short walk away. Class shows will take place at our theater.

Where should I park?

The easiest parking is at Parking Garage #5 (entrance on 4th street between Santa Monica & Broadway). Free for 90 min, then $2 for the next 30 min—just $2 for 2 hours! After that, it's $1.50 per half-hour. There is also some surrounding street parking that is free after 6PM on 5th street and east.

When is the class showcase?

Excluding holiday weekends, class showcase typically will fall on the weekend following your last class. You exact showcase date and time will be sent our your 2nd week of class.

Can I audit a class?

Sorry, we don’t allow outside visitors in class. Class is a space for people to push their boundaries, experiment, and sometimes fail. Having outside observers in class works against the safe creative atmosphere that we have worked hard to cultivate.

Why should you take a class with us?

  • Quality: Our theater is steeped in the traditions of Chicago, the mecca for longform improvisation. The instructors we work with have been performing and teaching for many years, and are committed to creating a home for individuals and ensembles to flourish.
  • Class Size: Classes at the Westside have (depending on the course) a maximum of 12-16 students. This is the lowest in the business.
  • Performances: Almost all of our 6-8 week classes end with a graduation showcase, giving you stage time in our theater.
  • Value: We offer some of the most affordable training in comedy in the Los Angeles area. We invite you to compare.
