Students are expected to attend all classes. Two absences are allowed per term in the event of an emergency or unavoidable circumstances.

Students are expected to arrive on time to their classes. Students are also encouraged to plan on arriving fifteen minutes early to their classes to accommodate unexpected life delays.

For the health and safety of everyone we ask that you not attend class or any Leela event if you are feeling sick or have symptoms of illness.

Improv 4: Top Of Your Intelligence

Six Week Course | Adults Only (18+)

Del Close, influential improv teacher and director (San Francisco’s The Committee, and Chicago’s iO), instructed legendary improvisors to “play to the top of your intelligence.” In keeping with this wisdom, Leela trains improvisers to practice specificity, connect patterns, recognize themes, and add their own unique wisdom into the mix, weaving together the personal, political, and universal for improv that leans forward. By slowing down and thinking on the spot, you will learn to co-create riveting theatre that illuminates, challenges and transforms both the performers and the audience.

Torwards the end of this course students perform together in a student showcase.

Prerequisite: Improv 3: Commitment to Craft or instructor approval.

Class Instructions: Please arrive at the main entrance of 450 Geary Street by 10:55 AM. Your instructor will meet you at the door and escort you to the classroom located on the second floor.
