Patterns help us collaborate. Spontaneous group acceptance/collaboration impresses an audience more than individual cleverness. Pattern work rewards an audience for paying attention and enforces the idea that the show was made especially for them.

In our third level, we explore creating patterns and discovering games to propel your scenes forward. You'll get out of your head and into the show by focusing on your team and what they need.

Dates: This class runs Wednesdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, starting June 4th and running for 8 weeks. A showcase will be scheduled as an additional opportunity on an evening during the week of July 27th.

Instructor: Ben Weiner

Ben Weiner (they/them) is a homegrown Coalition performer and lifelong Richmonder. Since taking their first class in 2018, Ben has performed with various independent teams and was a performer and producer of the wrestling-themed show AIPW. A frequent collaborator, Ben often shoots and edits video on behalf of others and has had work shown as part of various sketch shows at the Coalition.

COST: $250 (Early Bird $220)

The Coalition Theater is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Once classes begin, all sales are final. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise that prevent you from attending or completing your registered class. While we do our best to accommodate such situations, refunds are awarded only as credit for a future class or shows and are subject to the discretion of The Coalition Theater management. Requests for refunds will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and any decisions regarding refunds will be made at the discretion of the theater.
