Learn the core concepts of longform comedic improv. Students will cover scene-work mechanics like editing, tag-outs and heightening in the context of game of the scene. Over this seven-week period, we'll build the groundwork for comedic moves that will elevate your scenes.Classes every Wednesday, August 20th - October 1st from 7:00-9:30pm.
The course will culminate in a student show on Saturday, October 4th at 3:30pm.

CLASS REQUIREMENTS:
- Students are required to attend 2 improv shows at Mettlesome during the course (students get into shows for free)
- Students are allowed a maximum of 2 absences per course.

INSTRUCTOR:Charles Givens has been an improviser since 2000, beginning with Wake County's high school group, Teen Co. Charles has performed short-form, longform and recently sketch comedy with Mettlesome. He has taught improv workshops for Duke and NC State and has performed in improv festivals in Raleigh, Atlanta, Richmond, Williamsburg, and New York City. Charles currently coaches an independent longform improv team in Durham.
