Welcome to the first workshop of Extra Curricular's Illustration Pathway!
Over two hours, we'll:
- Learn to draw, combine and rotate 2D and 3D shapes.
- Practice compound shapes, chunking and detail tracking with simple game characters and art from Animal Crossing, Ooblets, Monument Valley and any others you'd like to try
- Get started on designing and drawing your own basic characters
Please bring:
- 2B pencil/s (wooden pencils are preferred over mechanical)
- Eraser
- Sharpener
- Paper or sketchbook
Required knowledge/skills:
Nothing! This is for beginners aged 10+. If you can draw but your lines and shapes are unsteady, this is for you too.
Useful Notes:
- This workshop is limited to 10 participants to make sure our students can be fully involved, so please book early!
- Our class culture emphasizes a low-ego environment - the best learning experiences happen when you feel comfortable enough to voice all your weird ideas and embarrassing questions (there are no embarrassing questions). Zero shame = maximum joyful learning
