Illuminated Layers: A Fused Glass Experience
Overview
Designed especially for adults 55+ seeking a creative, engaging, and hands-on artistic experience, this workshop invites participants into the colorful world of fused glass. Under the guidance of local artist and educator Tiffany Marchant, participants will discover how glass pieces can be cut, layered, and fused in the kiln to form luminous artworks rich in color and texture.
Across the four sessions, participants will explore essential techniques—from safely handling and shaping glass to composing thoughtful designs that come alive once fired. Each day builds confidence and skill while offering ample time for personal expression, experimentation, and relaxed conversation in a supportive studio environment.
By the end of the workshop, every student will complete several unique glass creations to take home—beautiful keepsakes that reflect their imagination, craftsmanship, and newfound mastery of this captivating medium.
This class is perfect for beginners and returning learners alike, bringing creativity, community, and lifelong learning together through the timeless art of fused glass.
This multi-part workshop will be held on the following dates: Wednesday, January 21, January 28, February 4, and February 11, 2026
