Join us for an inspirational day of creativity and collaboration at this year's Student Design Charette, hosted by Scott Edwards Architecture! Students from all three schools and across class years will come together to tackle a real-world design challenge focused on reimagining a hospitality-centered space along SE Burnside in Portland.
The project site, a flexible building shell with generous frontage, offers endless opportunities to rethink layout, materials, and spacial experience. Teams will envision a vibrant, small-scale venue such as a cafe, bakery, or ice cream parlor that celebrates strong branding and creates an engaging, memorable guest experience.
The day begins with an on-site tour to capture context and inspiration before teams dive into concept development. Each group will present their ideas to a jury of industry professionals, with cash prizes awarded to winning teams.
All participants will gain valuable exposure, networking opportunities, and hands-on design expereince. Snacks and lunch will be previded to keep creativity fueled all day long.
Students will need to bring laptop, drafting supplies/markers and creative energy!
