12:00-1:00 pm – Lunch will be provided while celebrating our state award winners and Iowa Head Start Association's past, present and future accomplishments and goals.

Networking sessions to choose from:

Parents – Alyssa Caldbeck will be presenting Supporting Children and Caregivers Emotional Well-being. This workshop is designed to empower caregivers with knowledge and skills to support their children's emotional development while addressing the impact of past experiences on caregiving. Participants will gain insights into understanding emotions, learn practical strategies for nurturing their child's emotional well-being, and explore how their own past experiences can influence their caregiving style. How to seek resources and support services for children and adults will also be discussed.

A Policy Council overview and the history of Head Start will also be discussed.

Join Laura Abbe, Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor and Mid-Iowa Community Action Head Start/Early Head Start Social Emotional Learning Coach, as she shares 15 years of experience creating spaces and planting seeds of safety and connection in teams, classrooms, and home visits. Together, we will spark our passion brighter lighting a path for resiliency among our communities in Iowa. This interactive training will help us notice the moments of joy in the present. It is in these moments we are able to rest and recharge our hearts and minds. Resilient communities start with a resilient workforce. This training will be all about us!
