I'd like to become certified as an IFS therapist. Will these hours count towards certification?

Accepted Answer

This workshop does NOT count towards becoming an IFS Certified Therapist through the IFS Institute.  However, it IS likely to benefit anyone seeking to experience more Self-energy in session with their clients - which will likely also benefit anyone working towards certification.

Question 2

I have limited exposure or experience with IFS, will I be lost?

If you have fully read "No Bad Parts" by Richard Schwartz, you'll be able to track what we're doing.  If you have been in your own IFS therapy for a few months you'll be able to engage more fully in the experience.  Contact me directly if you'd like to seek more clarity about deciding to register.

Question 3

I'm already certified, will this be too basic for me?

The 'subject matter' for this workshop is your Self and your parts.  Participants have unanimously given feedback that this workshop is helpful at any stage of development.  This workshop is more rich for everyone the more diversity of experience we have in the room.

Why take this workshop instead of an online workshop?

Therapists in Angela's in-person workshops tend to be much more engaged and less distracted than in any online workshop.  IFS is a very experiential model.   In this workshop you'll have interaction during the didactic & experiential segments, during breaks and at lunch.

What about parking?

Street parking is an option - Calhoun Street runs directly behind Monroe Library.  There is also hourly parking available in the West Parking Garage, which is also steps away from the library.

What about meals?

Coffee, water, pastries and fruit will be available in the morning.  Lunch will not be provided.  The Danna Student Center is steps away from the library.  You may also choose to bring your own lunch or attempt to maneuver an off-site.  One hour for lunch on day 1, 45 minutes day 2.

What about the refund policy?

Full refunds available up to 30-days before the event.  No refunds are available after that.

Question 8

I'm worried about dual-relationships, how is this dealt with?

Accepted Answer

We will break into practice groups of 4  people for 90 min/day.  To avoid pairing folks who have a client-therapist relationship, or any other relationship that you anticipate would stifle openness and safety - a few weeks before I will share the attendee list and ask us for our DO NOT PAIR list.
