1. What is the IEP 101 workshop?

It’s an informational session designed to help parents understand the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process—what it is, how it works, and how to effectively participate as part of their child’s support team.

Who should attend this workshop?

Any parent or caregiver of a pre-school or K-student,; who currently has an IEP, is being evaluated for special education, or simply wants to learn more about their rights and the school process.

Do I need to bring anything?

No materials are required, but you may want to bring your child’s current IEP or evaluation report if you have one, along with a notebook for taking notes or jotting down questions.

Will I get a copy of the presentation or resources?

Yes! Handouts and resource links will be provided, including a summary of the IEP process, common terms, and local supports for families.

Is this workshop specific to my school district?

The information shared applies broadly to all schools following federal IDEA guidelines, but examples will be
