TALE 2020 Special Session: “The IEEE Standard for Augmented Reality Learning Experience Models”

The session will cover a comprehensive introduction to the standard for AR learning experience models (P1589-2020) of the IEEE standards association, explaining the description languages for learning activities and the workplaces/classrooms in which they are executed.

Moreover, the session will introduce to the Open Source reference implementation, the Mirage·XR Community Edition, demonstrating how it works and mapping out the component architecture. An open discussion about research challenges and future needs will round up the session with agenda sharing.

The TALE 2020 conference will take place on the iLRN Virtual Campus, powered by Virbela. The iLRN Virtual Campus application can either operate in desktop mode on a Mac or Windows PC, or alternatively, used with a tethered PC VR headset (HTC Vive, Windows Mixed Reality, Oculus Rift, Oculus Quest with Link Cable). Mobile devices are not currently supported, but the keynote session will also be live-streamed on the Web.
