Come join us for an evening of deep conversations and introspection at The Space in Providence, RI. Our Identity Death Cafe event will explore the concept of The Unbecoming - shedding old layers to reveal our true selves. The Unbecoming is part of our monthly Identity Death Café series — gatherings for those who’ve outgrown versions of themselves and want to honor that transformation. Together we’ll explore identity, grief, and renewal through conversation, quiet reflection, and gentle ritual.
This in-person gathering is a safe space to discuss topics around identity, transformation, and self-discovery. Let's delve into the depths of who we are and who we want to become. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and explore the complexities of identity in a supportive environment. See you there!
This event is especially welcoming to neurodivergent, queer, trans, and BIPOC community members, and to anyone in transition, discovery, or change. You’re invited to come exactly as you are: speak, listen, or simply be present. There’s no expectation to share if you’d rather observe.
What to expect:
- A softly lit space with drinks, tea, light snacks, and flexible seating (chairs, cushions, and quiet corners).
- A short grounding and introduction at the beginning.
- Optional opportunities to share reflections or participate in a symbolic release (writing, art, or silence are all welcome).
- Gentle structure, predictable pacing, and respect for all sensory needs.
- No cost to attend. This is a free community offering.

The Space is located on the 2nd floor at 171 Chestnut St, Suite 200, Providence, RI 02903. Unfortunately, the building does not currently have an elevator.
