About this event
Overview
If your writing feels muted, unsure, or like it doesn’t fully sound like you, this session is designed to shift that. In just 50 minutes, you’ll move from guessing at your voice to understanding how identity, emotion, and imagination shape the way you write — so your words start landing with clarity and resonance.
💡 This isn’t about perfection. It’s about writing from a place that feels awake, real, and undeniably yours.
Description
Identity & Imagination: Unlock Your Writer’s Voice and Perspective for Beginners is a 50-minute live webinar designed to help emerging writers and journalers tap into clarity, emotion, and voice through creative craft.
Through a mini-lecture, two guided writing exercises, and gentle micro-coaching, you’ll learn how to anchor your storytelling in what makes your voice uniquely yours. At the heart of this session is Identity-Focused Writing, a method that uses identity as a creative lens and imagination as a transformative tool.
We’ll explore two core questions:
- Who gets narrative priority in my writing — and in my life?
- What happens when I let my perspective shape the story, instead of shrinking it?
By understanding how lens, distance, and form shape expression, you will begin to unlock your writer’s voice, reclaim personal narratives, or bring fictional characters to life with greater emotional depth and authenticity.
💡No publishing goals or “writer identity” required!
What You'll Learn
Whether you’re exploring your personal story for the first time or developing layered, believable characters, this session offers a clear, repeatable framework to unlock narrative voice.
You’ll be guided through an inclusive, respectful environment where all experiences are welcomed as a source of insight rather than a requirement to share. Participation in micro-coaching is optional.
